Princess Academy?

princesscafebreve:

I know everyone has that ONE alicorn oc…. Or ten. Or twenty. Wouldn’t it be kinda neat if there was an open forum/blog dedicated to making an academy out of it?

I would make an alicorn oc just for that

sooo, this is Clarity!
Her parents are really really religious, almost fanatic but not quite. They thought their daughter was going to be just like them, but she was rebellious, loved street art and was doing all kinds of things she shouldn’t be, even tried drugs once. Ended up working as a waitress living in a small apartment with two flatmates.
She doesnt have a talent yet since I couldn’t come up with an original one that would fit her. I also wanted to throw in another colour but nothing seemed to work.
I look forward to the critique, because I think you have really great taste in ponies and you’re my big inspiration when it comes to art and design *o*

First off, I’m really honored that you admire my pony designs so much! Always lovely to hear. ouo
She is a VERY pretty pony. I love the colors you’ve chosen, The blue of her eyes is very pretty, albeit perhaps a tiny bit too bright? Or maybe it’s the lack of pupils that makes me feel that way.
You might know I often feel like wings with different colored feathers is bad, because people don’t do it right, but here, I think it would probably fit very nicely for her lower wing feathers to be the same colors as her markings.
If you really want another color in there I’d suggest to add in another stripe in her mane, a thicker one that follows the thin one, attached to it. Pick a darker, perhaps duller shade of blue, to help with the transition from the lighter blue to the brown.
As for a talent you haven’t told me much, you told me what she loves but that doesn’t mean that’s her talent, so I can’t suggest a cutiemark.
I think she’s got a great design, I hope you find my advice useful!

Decided to redraw her while I’m at it xD Still not sure about her talent, but it’s probably something related to street art? I think.Anyway, thank you for the advice! And thanks for thinking she’s pretty, it feels like an honour to hear that from you ;v;

Did you end up on Terribleponies? Do people give you trouble for your pony designs? Is there something slightly off in your pony design, but you can’t put your finger on what? Or do you simply want someone else to look at your pony and say what they think?

You’ve come to the right place!

On Craptastic Critiques I offer constructive, honest and friendly advice on what you could change and do better in the design of your pony oc. I am not here to trash, I am here to help! Whoever you might be, popular or never heard of, I don’t judge!  critique everyone fairly.

Also if you want a gown for the celebration. Be sure to reblog this original post with;

  • A colored ref of your oc. Or color pallet.
  • any specific dress ideas you’d like to suggest!
  • Or even the type of wear your pony wants to attend in. {Dress, tux etc.}

Otherwise I will make one entirely from scratch. Be sure to only reblog if your attending the Nightmare Night Celebration at the vampony manor so you don’t take up space for people who are attending when you might not be.

[Aaaaah I would love a dress for Snowy, this will be her first tumblr nightmare night she will actually be attending so if ou designed something for her, that would be great ;v; I absomultely love your art and hoLY crap how did I not know about this other blog of yours?
Also I thing snowy would look good in something flowy?? but ill leave it up to you cause your designs are amazing!

offshore-tales:

Offshore is kicking in, and I can only do so much for the blog! And there’s no way I can design 40+ ponies in time, as much as I would love to. So! I am going to use yours, if you let me.
What do you have to do to enter? There are two ways:
Reblog this. It’s easy and fast. Include your reference sheet in the reblog and that’s all you have to do - however, if you add a bit of your OC’s personality and history, you get a bigger chance to get chosen.
Submit your reference to me at offshoreontheshore (which is a side blog to offshore to make things organized). Once again you can include a bit of info about your OC.
I don’t care whether you design a new pony or send me your current one, but keep in mind that this story is about pirates. If your pony is a peace loving fragile mare, you get less chances at winning a price and if you do, you probably won’t be in the crew, but rather a background pony in the docks or something. You can of course change them a bit, I mean, this IS an alternate universe.
When will this contest end? Never, probably. You can send references whenever you want, but the earlier, the better!
And last but certainly not least, the roles you can win!
A side character. That means you get actual dialogue and interaction. You will also be featured more often. This place will go mainly to those with appealing designs and/or great, fitting personality.
A background character. Almost no dialogue what so ever, just to fill empty spaces in the backgroung. Winners of this price will more or less be chosen randomly.
Third price is something like side characte, but will be featured less often - perhaps in the docks.
Join the crew!
